Meet Bridgette

Hi, I’m Bridgette — voice teacher, performer, and founder of The Johnson Voice Studio! I’ve basically been singing and telling stories since I could form sentences. At age 4, I was belting show tunes in the living room and acting out elaborate musical numbers with my little sister Natalie (she was a very patient co-star). By 8, I made my professional debut as ZuZu in It’s a Wonderful Life with Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster, PA - and from there, I was hooked.

After college, I built a career in classical music, performing with opera companies and orchestras around the country. But eventually, I felt the itch to explore more - more styles, more ways of using the voice, more tools for helping singers sound amazing in any genre. That curiosity transformed the way I sing and teach, and it’s the heartbeat of TJVS today.
The Teacher

As a voice educator, Bridgette is humbled and honored to work with artists of all ages and levels of experience across the world. She studied Voice Performance and Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College (B.M.) and the University of Maryland (M.M) and has continued her vocal training at the Westminster Vocal Pedagogy Institute and the Somatic Voicework™ LoVetri Institute. In addition to maintaining her thriving private voice studio in Ewing NJ, Bridgette is currently the Resident Voice Instructor at Hopewell Valley High School in Pennington, NJ. She is also proud to be a music fellow and International voice instructor with Broadway Arts Education, where she teaches virtual private and group lessons to students from Shanti Bhavan Project in Bangalore, India. Bridgette is a sought after Guest Teaching Artist and has presented Masterclasses at Harvard, Boston Conservatory, Tufts University, The College of New Jersey, and Los Robles Children's Choir in Los Angeles, amongst others.
The Performer
Still an active classical and crossover artist, Bridgette has enjoyed a versatile professional singing career with over 20 years of performing experience at some of the most renowned venues around the world. Locally, she has appeared with The College of New Jersey in Carmina Burana, and returns regularly to her Alma Mater Rider University for recitals with The Vocalis Consort, the ensemble she co-founded. She has been a Principle Artist for such reputable companies as Santa Fe Opera, Pacific Symphony, Palm Beach Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Central City Opera and Utah Festival Opera, Charlottesville Opera, to name a few. More About Me

My career has taken me from opera houses to open mics, and every stop along the way shapes how I teach - with empathy, curiosity, and a healthy dose of joy.

When I’m not in the studio, you might find me singing with my favorite duet partner - my husband of nearly 10 years, Scott; wrangling our two amazing kids, Eliza and Danny; sweating it out in a Zumba or Body Combat class; harmonizing with friends at church or in my performance group, Vocalis; and busting out everything from Hamilton to Lady Gaga in the kitchen - always with a cup of coffee in hand!
